Starting with the Bulkhead Assembly is essential
since this is the 'building block' of which all other portions of the fuselage are built
off of.
Here we have the Bulkhead Cross Tube Lower with
various channel brackets being attached.
The bearing assembly shown here is one of the major
improvements with the Searey LSX, and is installed for the aileron control system within
the cockpit area. It is located on the Bulhead Cross Tube, Lower.
The Bulkhead Cross Tube, Upper and Bulkhead Cross
Tube, Lower are joined by the Bulkhead Upright Tubes. Also shown here are the Main Gear
Support Plates installed to accept the Main Gear leg with the gear in down and locked
position.
The Bulkhead Pylon Gusset is a major addition to the
Searey LSX kit. This bracket pulls double duty:
Above the Bulkhead Cross Tube, Upper this greatly stiffens the
bulkhead and pylon intersection area.
Below the Bulkhead Cross Tube, Upper assists in mounting the
Electric Actuators which operate the Main Gear Legs.
The Retraction 'Scissor' mechanism partially
installed awaiting a Main Gear leg and installation of the Electric Actuator.
Installation of the Electric Actuator and Main Gear
Leg complete. Add a 12 volt to check operation, followed by installation of the
Micro-Switches.
For older Searey's with Hydraulic Gear, we
also have a retrofit kit for the Electric Gear System.
Next Up: Commencing construction of the forward
cockpit assembly.
